daughter keeps being invited to expensive bday parties, cant afford it this year?

Expensive as in buy a gift for the child? If you can't afford that part, it's okay to decline invitations but your daughter will miss out on these so I would try to attend a couple if you can afford it. Depending on her age, she should be old enough to understand they cost money explain that to her.

As in you can't afford to go to the birthday party itself, what kinda people are inviting you and not covering the expense for their guests? I have 6 kids and we plan nice birthday parties for them sporting events, zip line park, trampoline park, bowling, etc and it's costly on our part but we cover all the expenses for everyone we invite (kids and the parents).

We go big or go home for birthday's, we celebrate those like we mean it. My parents couldn't afford hardly any birthday celebrations for us when we were young so I make sure my kids have that. We also have 1-2 foster kids at any given time so we like to make a big deal out of their birthday too because sadly it's often something that's never been done for them before.

You need to sit her down and explain that attending all of these parties costs a lot of money, and that its impossible she attends all of them, that she pick her 2-3 best friends parties to attend, instead of all of them.
