D&C after miscarriage?

Laulmum

Posted 3 mins ago

Hey everyone. With much sadness we are going through a miscarriage. Tuesday they've booked me in to have the small op to remove the remains. I was just wondering how it felt for those that have had the same? I have three other children from vaginal births and (no I'm not bragging) I didn't have pain relief any of the times. I'm simply stating it as I'm not new to pain. I was wondering what to expect after the operation? How is the bleeding and what should I expect to feel? Apart from empty of course...😪 Thanks for any answers

It is done under anesthesia and there is no pain

they will remove all the remaining product and clean your uterus

you have to be careful for a few days use sterile pads.

I had a D&C 2 months after my sons birth as there was afterbirth left behind.

I was put out and when I woke up felt nothing. Went home after 4 hours, bled a little for a few days and that was it. It was not painful at all.
