Why is everything a sin fornication masturbation alcohol even going for seconds at meal time sleeping too much?
I am a struggling Christian at this point. I don't really get it. I grew up in the church so I should but I don't. I'm not sure if it's because of the strictness or what. But I always lived by the rules and it isn't getting easier. I did fall of the wagon after highschool but now I am back at it. I am abstinent and sadly all og February and this past Sunday I missed church because even though I asked to be scheduled off I keep working Sundays it's upsetting. On top of it all I keep having fantasies and thoughts about other women. It upsets me because I was able to supress those feelings for years and now it's just overwhelming. If I masturbate which I haven't I will be sinning. But I am really frustrated. Lately when I am not at work I just sleep. And I know that's a sin also when I could be doing college apps or working on career stuff. I just feel drained and everything seems pointless. But I can't enjoy myself because I feel bad and honestly I want to intimate with someone and that guilt is stressing me out. Idk what to do anymore.

Like so many others, you got side-tracked. You got focused on a distraction. If you are a Christian, you are dead to sin, and freed from sin. Your life is not supposed to be one of constantly worrying about not doing evil, but rather about actively doing good. You will never grow, especially if you are trapped in a church that has that focus.

Stop torturing yourself. In a civilization where young women are chaste and young men are expected to abstain from their instinctive sexual urges almost indefinitely, masturbation is a way to cope with the prolonged sexual frustration of perpetual abstinence. Masturbation has been a common (but private) practice for centuries and is how our civilization is able to allow modern women total control over their own sexuality.
Christians imagine their asinine beliefs legitimize forcing their rules on everybody else, which is why, ultimately you need to accept the responsibility for managing your own behavior. If masturbation eases your frustration enough that you don't rape attractive strangers or force yourself on your girlfriend, so much the better. I submit that it is far better to ignore bad advice from superstitious fools than to spent decades in prison and the rest of your life as a registered sexual criminal.

In my view religion developed as a form of social control. The powerful who "knew the mind of God" were able to keep the less powerful in their place through terrifying them. If they did not believe they would go to hell. If they masturbated they would go blind, if they were gay they would be stoned etc etc. I think if your personal liberties are being infringed by a religion then you should leave it behind. Morality does not lie in the Bible or Koran or any other Holy Books. It come from reasoned rational modern moral philosophy. We no longer have slavery, which is sanctioned by the Bible, we don't kill witches any more, gay people are safe from stoning, etc etc and this all comes from collective agreement and secular morality. You have to really examine what you believe, what you are told and reach a conclusion of your own. Hopefully you will agree with me and leave God behind in the infancy of our civilisation. Good luck

Psychology states that sex is the basic need of humans.I dont believe that religion Was made to make people sad or frustrated. It was made to help people survive in a society. The essence of rules is that they should be broken once in a while. God gave you this life to do something and to be happy, not to be sad and to mope around and do nothing. Listen to your instincts and desires for once. You'll not go to hell for living the life, that god gave , happily. Masturbation is not a sin. Alcohol, though it is bad for health, still its not a sin. Christianity is not about no masturbation or alcohol or attending sunday masses or being a virgin. It is about being good and doing good. Every religion tells us to be humble , good, positive and kind. Christianity tells the same. If a person is not happy in himself, how will he be good to others? Go through bible and Christianity because i think you've still not understood the religion in depth , you've just noticed the superficial things.

Religion is all about control. Throw off the burdensome bs and live your life.

You don't get it??? It sounds to me you do; but you're just not connecting the dots. You masturbate, you are slothful, you steal (company time), you don't observe the Lord's Day...yet you feel like crap. Hmmm. 2 + 2 =?

Return to the Lord of the Bible and He will return to you. If you were never saved...
If you do not yet know God, do this just as you are, without pretense and He will help.
Because....
Rom 3:23
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
And...
Rom 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Rom 5:8
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
To receive God's free gift....
Rom 10:9-11
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
Pray this...
Father, I accept your gift of forgiveness for all my sins because of what Jesus has done for me.
Help me in my time of need and show me the way I should go.
I ask in Jesus' name. Amen
remember.....
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
