Is it safe to order factory sealed items off eBay?
I came across an iPad 1st gen that s sealed and is a good price. I want to purchase it but I m a little uneasy about it being sealed. I ve read articles and watched YouTube videos of people getting scammed from sealed items. Should I order it anyway? thanks for any help

I ordered a phone off of there one time. It was brand new, in the box, never opened. It was an HTC phone and orange. Don't really remember what it was called. Anyway, the phone worked great for a good 4-5 months and then it randomly stopped working. I still have it but now when I turn it on it's stuck in a boot loop.. it just starts the logo when you power it up & keeps repeating it over and over and over. I literally cannot do anything else on it! Maybe it was just a technical problem but after that it makes me a little iffy. The phone was on sale for a decent price maybe a $15 discount.

Caveat Emptor.
Some great deals can be had from honest sellers,
but some sellers aren't honest.
Check the seller's ratings.
Anything less than 95% positive should make you hesitate.

ONLY order if the item has a warranty and that warranty is valid in your country. For example if you buy an Apple product from overseas and it's not from an authorized Apple retailer, you are not covered under warranty. Same with many other manufacturers. You are only covered if you bought from an official authorized retailer and you have a receipt from that retailer proving where you bought it. If you are buying from a reseller or unauthorized retailer you usually are not covered
Also Ebay/Paypal only cover you for 30 days from the date of purchase. If the item stops working after 2 months, you are stuck with it and cannot get a refund

Check out the seller and any warranty. You can send him an email through ebay with any question you have.
