The Earth—Was It “Founded” by Chance?

A SPECIAL PLANET

“The special conditions on earth resulting from its ideal size, element composition, and nearly circular orbit at a perfect distance from a long-lived star, the sun, made possible the accumulation of water on the earth’s surface. It is difficult even to imagine the origin of life without water.”—Integrated Principles of Zoology, Sixth Edition.

In my opinion a male & female were put here in different parts of earth from another planet light years away to see if they can survive. (If as they say man came from monkeys, then why has monkeys stopped having human babies.) For instance our blood vessels are clear, yet they look blue, but when our blood hits air the blood turns red. Mike

Random chance over 13.8 billion years can achieve a lot

Yes as was life. Life can only exist on planets where the conditions for life exist. It is no surprise when life does exist on one of those planets in fact it is more a surprise when it doesn't.

When the word 'chance' is invoked, I think of 'taking a chance.' Not just luck, but a pursuit of the domain, equal rights for gender racial or religious differences.

And the word 'founded' is like an extra appendage, or say a vestigial tail...there is no evidence of others making it for us. Founded by chance? No, it's not a valid phrase for even the most remotely reasoned synchronicity.

Of course it was chance. And it wasn't "founded". In a universe containing billions of stars, it is no surprise that at least one of them has a planet that can support life.

What about the other billions of galaxies and each with billion of stars and planets.

if it wasn't by chance, why are they created, what is the reason for all these billions of dead plants that are serving no purpose?

Strong or weak anthropic principle. Look them up.

Ya....... it was founded by chance. You figure Goddidit?

    Chance?

Of the billions of planets in each of the billions of galaxies, life formed where it could rather than where it could not.

    Is that surprising?

    ugly duckling101:

The formation of life from non-life may or may not be a rare occurrence. Too little evidence is available.

Of the trillions of suitable places on a planet, and of trillions of planets and over vast amounts of time, it only needed to occur once.
