Is it normal to lose leg hair as you get older?

Update:

It is nice not needing to shave nearly as often, but I wonder if it is the norm.

It must be. I am 65 and rarely have to shave my legs anymore!

Yes. This is why many, many moms of close-to-menopausal age are not eager to let teen daughters shave. They see their own sparse hair and do not remember what it's like to have teen 'gorilla' legs.

Not sure if this is the norm, but in my extended family, both males and females have lost leg hair as they have aged.

Yes it's normal. Especially if you have been shaving your legs for many years.

It's not common, but it's probably not harmful. Suggest you use Google instead of this forum.
