Well, Trump is the natural 'quirk' of politics, with politics basically being a long-con on humanity, you're bound to get an aggressive counter-response.

The one thing people don't realize yet, is that the Establishment made, and is keeping Trump in power, he's not a champion of the people, he's the establishment's variation to election-fraud.

Plato didn't believe in democracy the way the founding fathers of America did. Plato didn't trust the opinions and feelings of common, ordinary people. He predicted that people like Trump would sway the voters with emotional speeches. Plato was right about that, but wrong about following the emotions of the majority at times, but not to an extreme. For example, Germans before World War II were starving and bitter at Europe for punishing them for World War I. They elected Hitler. Then Hitler went way too far by way of retaliation. Another example is the emotional Muslim refugee scare that led to the Brexit referendum, which is not too late to stop short of a disastrous exit from the EU. Final example: Trump's popular appeal. But it's not too late to let checks and balances in government curb any excessive, radical acts and laws.

Plato predicted little but he talked a lot.
