Sony digital camera screen went blank?

The screen on my Sony DSC-HX40)V suddenly went blank while I was trying to record a video. EVF is still working, the LCD, though, lights up, but does not show neither the interface, nor the image coming from the lens. I Suppose it's a loose wire, but I need advice on what the problem could really be. Will take it to a repair shop in 2-3 weeks (it's stlil in warranty). Thanks in advance.

If the LCD displays the menu but not what's in front of the lens, the problem may be the digital sensor.

If under warranty, bring to an authorized Sony service center, not just any repair shop. If the camera is less than a week old, you are entitled to a replacement so hurry bringing the camera back to the store you bought it from. Don't forget the box, everything that came in it and the receipt. No receipt no warranty. Stores won't dig their duplicates for you. Beyond the first week and less than a year, you will get free service and maybe free parts. Again, I stress bringing the receipt.

You don't need to know what could cause the problem

if the unit is still within warranty.

    Just get it dealt with.

Very few modern consumer electronic products have any wires in them.
