when is an employer allowed to round down your time worked?
We recently got a new payroll system at work that alows us to look at our information online nd make changes if needed. I noticed that on thursday and friday of last week they rounded my time down. On thursday I worked 6hours 9 minutes and on friday 5 hours 25 minutes. They rounded thursday to 6 hours and friday to 5 hours 15 minutes. From what I have seen on Department of Labor, they shouldnt do that because in order to round down I have to work 7 minutes 59 seconds from the last quarter hour and if I work between 8 to 14 minutes they round up. So based on that there is a mistake right?

The mistake is yours. Work your full hours and if overtime is not authorized, then you are not entitled to overtime pay.

Contact your state's Department of Labor and "inquire".
They'll give you the answer, plus you will have let them know who is doing it.

sure sounds like a scam under the guise of "new payroll system."
Disney Co just got caught at similar ripoff and had to pay back abt $4 mil to workers.
