What do you think this quote means?? “Somewhere in the world your Father is lost and needs you but you are far away.” ~ William Stafford?
Can you explain the meaning and tell personal connections? Thank you

Mr. Stafford was a believer in God, and poetically and projectively places "God the Father" in an irreal situation; God the Father is not "lost" but Omnipresent. It is man who turns from the Life, Truth, and Love and hence the Father is "far away"--in Mr. Stafford's awareness. God the Father needs the Son (at one level, we are Sons and Daughters of God), as parts of God's Being, and in that poetic sense "needs," but in Reality God's gift of creation of Sons and Daughters, Spirit-sparks with infinite upside potential, needs to draw nigh and abide with God, rather than the other way 'round. Dramatic poetry, inaccurate re Truth. Semi-related: "Creation: Artistic and Spiritual," "The Great Divorce," "The Answer You're Looking for Is inside You."
