beginner driver here how to know if im in the center of the lane? and how not to drift away? cant seem to drive straight

    Here's what my mom taught me. Imagine there's a divider straight down the middle of the windshield. Now focus on the passengers side of the window and pay attention to where the road ends on that side. You want the edge of the road (or the white line if there is one) to be in the middle of the passengers side of the windshield. That should keep you straight. (Hope this makes sense)

    Keep your hands on the steering wheel at about the 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions. Make small adjustments to the wheel, not sudden jerky movements. Remember, you are sitting about 2 feet from the center of your car. So try to keep your steering line about 2 feet from the center of the lane. That way, the center of the car will be at the center of the lane.

    Aim high in your steering. As in down the road, not just a few yards in front of you. This will help you not only drive straight but will help you anticipate traffic, traffic signals, pedestrians, and the configuration of the roadway.
