Explain the relationship between labels and genocide?

Labels help people distinguish between "us" and "them", which makes it easier to develop racism and in extreme cases, genocide

Labels are the printed instructions or information on a product.

Genocide is killing people.

I have a washing label on my bra that tells me the proper care and cleaning.

I have never tried to eliminate an entire people.

Labels are a form of racism. Racism is often, but not always, the cause of genocide.

Hitler called Jews rats. Hutus called Tutsis cockroaches. Who loves a rat or a cockroach? I don't. The relationship between labels and genocide is that these unfavorable labels help to dehumanize the group. Are you more likely to kill 800,000 Tutsis if you think they're human beings or vile cockroaches?

The only example I think of at the present moment is in nazi Germany, where hitler labeled the Jews as sub-human which led to their mass genocide.
