Hybridization question for BrO3^-.......
To get better values for formal charge, double bonds can be written between Br and O. Bromate ion has four electron domains and therefore has tetrahedral electron pair geometry. But since one electron pair is nonbonding, the molecular geometry is trigonal pyramidal (almost trigonal planar). Based on the geometry, we could propose sp3 hybridization, if there is any hybridization at all.

O=Br=O .......... O atoms have FC of 0, Br has FC of -1

.....O .......... two O atoms have FC of 0, Br has FC of 0, one O has FC of -1
In reality, all three Br-O bonds are identical and fall between bond orders of 1 and 2, closer to 2.
