How do I turn off device protection on my phone?

Google took over my phone. It won't let me turn off my lock screen. Which I really don't want to do. But it keeps telling me if I enter my password incorrectly 10 times that it will erase my phone data and return to factory settings. I have a two year old who plays with my phone. I don't want to lose my information. Since Google runs all internet services how do I turn off device protection without loosing all my internet services?

you either do a full reset or contact google... they add this feature or if not a person could steal someones phone...have instant access to personal and banking apps etc ...google don't take over a phone as you seem to be saying....a 2 year old did this??? Amazing as not only would said child need go to your password settings, input the current password to then allow the password change .....if by a miracle was the case...reset the phone and have google reset your password...they will of course want the security questions and numbers confirmed....unless the 2 year old happened to have changed all those too that is lol
