How many times does your cell phone ring before it goes to the answering machine?

I have a Cricket phone and it gives me 2 rings, 17 seconds, they say that's the best they can offer. I am getting another service this week that will give me as many rings as I want.

    I don't worry about the number of rings, but the default on my carrier is 5.

    I control when I answer the phone, if I'm doing something else, I just let it ring. If it's important, they will leave a message or send a text/email and I will know to get back to one of those options when I have time to do it.

    I'm one of those people that gets it, text, email and voicemail are tools, used to respond to others when YOU have time to do so.
