Does being on testosterone affect your hair color?

I know you'll most likely gain and lose body hair all over, I know that... I'm FTM, and I'm seriously considering starting testosterone, but will it change my hair color? My hair is a really pretty shade of red, and I really don't want it to change...again, there isn't much on the internet about it ^^;; help?

    I agree with Angela D.

Hormones change a lot of things, but hair color isn't among those.

I think androgens cause hair to darken from its normal state. This happens during the start of puberty - especially to people with blonde hair. That's why it's very rare to see an adult with naturally light blonde hair. Genetics play a role too though.

When you're sick and dying of cancer due to the hormones of the opposite sex being injected, you won't care what color your hair is. Also, you're a woman for life, madam.

Learn to love yourself, instead of trying to change who you are, which, might I add, is literally impossible.
