Do you prefer granite countertops or quartz countertops for the kitchen? Why?

There is no difference. I prefer solid (i.e. no pattern) counter tops.

quartz--it holds up better in the kitchen, you don't have to run around drying up wet spots, you can put hot pots right on it...they don't seem to scratch as easy.

Why do you need to prefer one over the other. Both have very similar properties. I would think someone would prefer one over the other based on the look they wanted and the amount of money they had in their budget.
