Why does anyone bother answering horse questions now?

All this morning's horse questions are from accounts created on 25 or 26 April, 2017. It's not even worth the trouble to look up and see whether those questions are stolen. They are.

In a few days every single one of them will get a "best answer" but it won't be one of the new and good ones.

There are a very few of us left, insanely driven to try to fish flecks of gold out of the dross that used to be Yahoo Answers. (Perhaps an analogy to manure would be better, except that manure is GOOD STUFF.) I would go and answer horse questions on stackoverflow.com, but they don't have a horse section. at least not yet.

Maybe in a day or two I'll just forget that YA ever existed, or add it to the /etc/hosts file as "127.0.0.1 answers.yahoo.com" so that it becomes unreachable. (Your "hosts" file will likely be elsewhere if you are not using Unix or Linux.)

  • I hope everyone sticks around. I don't post or answer much in this section anymore but I do read the questions and answers and enjoy seeing everyone. Wish we could meet in person! :)

This has been going on a long time, and Yahoo won't address it. I've seen multiple questions where they took my original answer and used it verbatim with another name for Best Answer. I've seen them do it with yours too, Snezzy.

I wonder why anyone would bother posting these questions. If they were trying to help Yahoo!, they'd pick a new answer - far less work, and encourages the participants to keep on.

I hope we all stick around, even if intermittently, in case the sale of Yahoo improves things. I enjoy interacting with everyone.

Are they trying to make Yahoo brand look stronger or what?

My take is to add some useful information that some new person may read and get use from. I don;t worry about the source, or the points,

I enjoy seeing some of the posts from the regulars. . .funny dramatic etc.

I try to see the good and stay the course. . .I hope the old times stay on : )

    Splains a lot Lucy.

I have been following a FB group called Equestrians cant handle the truth.

There are maybe 3 teenaged crybabies on there but they are catching H3ll from others.

And I have a another closed group where I am actually learning some new techniques, I can hear my mares sniveling now ;)) "darn! Monte Roberts, Clinton Anderson, Chris Cox, Parelli, now another one!? I wish her cell phone would fall off in a clarifier!"

The same thing is going on in the dogs section, it's been reported and Yahoo has chosen to do nothing about it. Check the date of the user, and if it's from those dates, don't answer.

Yahoo is faking activity on its own site.

Just like dating sites are faking activity.

It is not only horse questions, it is like that in all categories and the questions are verbatim reposts from several years ago.
