    It's all but inevitable...

As a sovereign nation no longer a part of the UK, Scotland would regain ownership of the oil & gas within 200 miles of their coast under International Law, so they would be financially independent, would rejoin the EU (the vast majority of Scots voted Remain), and the multi-National corporations based in England would move to Scotland rather than the European mainland...

Not without raising taxes. It receives more from the rest of the UK than it pays, so it would need to make up the difference.

This was all thoroughly discussed last time they had an independence referendum. What nobody can understand is why the SNP want Scottish independence only to give it up to the EU.

The Scots aren't scheduled to vote on independence yet. This has already been legally disallowed.

Scots will have to accept Brexit in the interim and at some point in the future, have a referendum determining whether they want independence. If they vote to secede from the UK, then they can negotiate re-entry into the EU.
