Can you get in trouble for moving states and not telling your university?

My roommate is from Arizona and takes online classes from ASU and GCU in Arizona, but she hasn t updated her address since she moved here (Oregon) can she get in trouble for this? I feel worried for her. She s still paying regular tuition so shouldn t she have to pay out of state?

No, she is a resident of the state where her parents live

Legally its fraud. If ASU or GSU find out she could be liable to paying back all tuition and fees she cheated them out of and they would probably deny her the credits she earned while out of state. They might, if the cost was high enough, seek to have her arrested. The charges could include wire fraud, interstate wire fraud, Theft.
