Is $2.75/hr in WI an especially low waitress salary (obviously this doesn't include tips)?

this is an industry norm to actually pay less than minimum wage when tips are part of your employment

if your state minimum wage is $7.25 then the company assumes you will be making at least $4.50/hr hour in tips

It depends upon the amount of the tips. If you include your tips do you make more than minimum wage?

No, pretty standard if you get tips

It's pretty dependent on the place where you work. A few of my friends (in Ohio) are waitresses at pretty nice restaurants and get paid under $2/hour but, because most bills are pretty high, they average about $22/hour with tips. However, a few other friends who are waitresses at other places with similar salaries as your own and they average around $9/hour. So the money is ok for a part-time gig and some extra cash or a high school job, but to make an independent living on solely this would be difficult.

It depends on where in WI you live. $2.75 is not bad considering how much in tips you make. You could easily make $500-600 a week

That's the reason I'd never be a waiter your agreeing to get under half min wage due to other people paying your salary if your lucky it's a fools job ( no offense)
