Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and beginning April 20th, 2021 (Eastern Time) the Yahoo Answers website will be in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

Does Yahoo now have a timed cutoff, or is that someone trying to steal login information via some hack into Yahoo Answers?

First time I've ever seen it. Tried to tell me I timed out even though I just answered a question and was returning to the list of questions. Rather than "log in", I quit Yahoo. When I reconnected, it showed me as connected without needing to reenter my password, which is normal if I'm only away for a few seconds.

Update:

It was NOT an interruption in internet service as I wasn't disconnected from the internet, but only had the normal question screen replaced with another screen that claimed to be Yahoo, saying i had timed out. I'm level 7, which means I've been with them a while (numerous years actually) and I've NEVER seen that happen before. (nor since)

Update 2:

Perhaps it is a glitch in something involved with the Verizon takeover, but It looked very much like the bogus "phishing" scam pages that periodically show up on some websites. (The URL link for that page when I viewed "Source" came back to Germany, but their normal header includes only English speaking source nations.)

Update 3:

Since I was using the website to answer a question and it showed up as I returned to the list of questions, I had not been idle and thus could not "time out"

They do have a cutoff, but what you describe sounds more like an interuption in your internet connection, maybe your ISP.
