Puts people out of jobs.
Driving is a privilege, so when the car drives itself, it takes it away.

as long as they keep accidents to their minimum, I don't have the slightest problem

Because they would observe the speed limit and make commuter traffic around here more congested than it already is.
10 to 15 over the limit is standard here.
