I really love the name Cedric. A really old name but a good solid, strong and masculine name. Like the nickname too. Well done on your choice.

Well this may upset you...but I'm just going to be honest....
It's the sought of name I would imagine on old man to have. I prefer the nickname 'teddy' or even better the name Edward, with the nickname 'eddy'

Cedric is fine but I'd call him Ced, Ric, or Ricky before I ever call him Ceddy.

I quite like the name Cedric, I'm not so sure about Ceddy though. I can see it on a very small child, but past that I think I would be inclined to either just use Ced or maybe Ricky. I can see where Ricky might not be the style of someone who picks Cedric as a name though; Ceddy isn't awful, I just can't see it being used by people who aren't very close to him.
Best of luck to you! (:

Handsome & uncommon, though well-known because of its association to the most popular novels in the world. Meaning, it will be easier for people to spell & pronounce.
