My mom hates my boyfriend.. what do I do?

So I'm 16 years old and I'm dating a guy, and my mom really dislikes him. I understand why she's being cautious and stuff because of things that have happened in the past (i had arguments with him and told her about them and now she thinks he's controlling and stuff when he's really not) and we actually broke up for about a month but now are back together. i've been trying so hard to make her understand cause he makes me really happy but she doesnt listen to anything i say. i don't want her to be mad at me. what should i do about this?
