Is it true that most americans don't have electric kettles? And if not, how are they supposed to make tea?

I've travelled in the USA a lot, and only had one decent tea - a little place in Delaware. Apparently, some have stove top kettles, but, not electric ones, something I discovered only recently.

I make tea using my coffee machine. I just grind the leaves up and put it where the coffee grounds normally go. Otherwise I buy the bags of tea and just seep the tea in boiling water.

    We prefer iced tea.

Source(s): There's an instant mix. Lots of sugar... Mmm.

Microwave the mug or just boil water on the stove.

I used to have an electric kettle, but after a few years using it, I realized my tea tasted like plastic, so I threw it out. These days I use a metal kettle to make tea. Americans have stove tops you know.
