Braces would definitely help in your situation.
The fact that you are using "mum" makes me think that you may be covered by the NHS.
I don't know their guidelines, but maybe they consider closing gaps to be "cosmetic" and not "functionally necessary".
In the U.S. you would have had braces on by now, but you would also pay out of your own pocket - no government coverage.
The user who answered "braces wouldn't make any difference to the gap in your teeth." is very wrong. Braces would close the gaps and make all your teeth fit together properly.

Let me give u some more detail. I'm 13 years old and I have a gap between my front teeth as u can see on the image. My dentist said I'm not eligible to get braces and my teeth are fine even though their not. I always ask my mum I need braces but she also says my teeth are fine and ill get them if I need them. People at school call me names like tooth gap. And they say stuff like your gap is bigger than ur future. And whenever I smile my gap is exposed to the person in smiling to and its really embarrassing and annoying. The thing that really annoys me is the fact that is that I know people that are getting braces or already have braces don't actually need them. Even some of my friends mak fun of me. I can't really do anything because my mum thinks I don't need braces. If I had my own choice I would do whatever I can to convince my dentist that I need them. What should I do?

Yes - he is right. Braces are for straightening crooked teeth - your teeth are already straight.
