Vaseline in hair?
I am trying to grow out my hair and I don't have a swimming cap but I don't want the chlorine in the pool to dry out my hair. If I don't dip my head under and use a bit of vaseline near the bottom where it might touch the water, would that help? I have really short hair (4-5 inches per hair) and it does touch the water when I swim. If not vaseline would mineral oil work too?

I'm concerned about the chlorine drying out my hair not stopping it from growing.

Chlorine in the pool is not going to tamper the growth of your hair.
Heat to style your hair, like straightening tools, and chemicals like perming & dyeing or bleaching does!
