Will Vaseline substitute for a swimming cap?
THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY UNTIL I BUY A SWIMMING CAP
I am trying to grow out my hair and I don't have a swimming cap but I don't want the CHLORINE in the pool to DRY out my HAIR. If I don't dip my head under and use a bit of vaseline near the bottom where it might touch the water, would that help? I have really short hair (4-5 inches per hair) and it does touch the water when I swim. If not vaseline would mineral oil work too?
Will the Vaseline wash out in the chlorinated water?

The pool will not thank you for sticking vasaline into their pool.
Just wash it after with a good shampoo. Swim caps are not fully waterproof they just control your long hair.
