Christians: The weird side of the bible?

She lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses. Ezekiel 23:20 NIV

You will be pledged to be married to a woman, but another will take her and rape her. You will build a house, but you will not live in it. You will plant a vineyard, but you will not even begin to enjoy its fruit. Your ox will be slaughtered before your eyes, but you will eat none of it. Your donkey will be forcibly taken from you and will not be returned. Your sheep will be given to your enemies, and no one will rescue them. . . . The Lord will afflict your knees and legs with painful boils that cannot be cured, spreading from the soles of your feet to the top of your head. Deuteronomy 28:30-31,35

Justice and Righteousness is desired by all peoples regardless of religion. It may be "peculiar (1 peter 2:9 KJV)" but I wouldn't call it weird or strange (1 peter 4:12, NKJV).

    Matthew 28:18-20

”And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age

My favorite part of the bible is when the 'god' character tells 'his people' to go into Jabesh-Gilead, kill all the men, women, and male children - and take the virgin girls as wives.

And when they ran out of virgins, he told them to go to the next town and repeat.

  • Those verses were definitely divinely inspired.

God had a reason for putting those in there. It shows our(his) perverse and demented nature.

Christians can rationalize anything in the bible so they don't have to come to terms with thought of death being permanent.
