Now that more and more people are waking up to the truth about the tattered history of Christianity and the Bible, what will the fundies do?
Will they continue to believe in the face of contradictory evidence that their view of God and the universe is the correct one, or will they be swept up in the dustpan and discarded with all of the other irrelevant and outdated concepts/resigned to collecting dust on the bookshelf like their bibles?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoWhy do Christians ignore all of the unfulfilled prophecies in the Bible?
Jesus said that none of the people present during the time he was giving prophecy will pass away until he returns again.
So, did he already fulfill the prophecy and Christians are currently worshiping a dead religion, or did Jesus lie to those people who have long since been dead?
Here's a whole list of failed prophecies: http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/proph/long.html
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoSince Jesus' death was nullified by his resurrection, he didn't really die. Does that mean that his death was symbolic?
Also, how did he die for our sins if he didn't stay dead? Doesn't his resurrection defeat the purpose of his "dying for our sins?"
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoWhy is it that the only people who come to the conclusion that "God" is an impersonal and unemotional thing, are the smart ones?
Many theologians, scientists and the like seem to come to the conclusion that, if there is a God, it does not possess any of the characteristics of a monotheistic God, such as the Christian/Abrahamic God. Why is this?
More intelligent? Logical? Realistic?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoIf God's so "real," where's he/she/it at?
"Outside of time and space" isn't an answer. It's just a convenient excuse to give for your inability to prove that you're correct. You don't really know what it is, where it is, how it is, why it is, or even if it exists in the way that you imagine it to.
If you're going to believe in something, believe in yourself, because that's the only cosmic entity that cares you exist.
This is your alarm clock to reality. It's time to wake up.

2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoDo Christians have longer arms than atheists?
Christians need longer arms to reach for their God.
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoIs it merely coincidence that Jesus has similar characteristics to many other gods before him?
Immaculate conception
Healing powers
Crucifixion
Resurrection
Ascension to heaven
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoWhy is it that the Christian God is the only God in history who man has claimed to have authored a book?
None of the other Gods wrote, or assisted man in writing a book. Sounds pretty suspicious to me....
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoCan we agree that, if there is a God, it exists separately from religion?
Anyone can see that religious people view God through the lens of their religion, but what I'm saying is that, again, if there is a God, it is not the same as any religion imagines it to be.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoMy fellow brethren of the R&S section, what do you think of these scholarly articles?
They are a bit lengthy, but provide very detailed explanations that might clear up some notions that Christians and Atheists have about science and religion.

4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoCan we establish that "supernatural" does not exist, please?
su·per·nat·u·ral
[ˌso͞opərˈnaCH(ə)rəl]
ADJECTIVE
(of a manifestation or event) attributed to some force beyond scientific understanding or the laws of nature:
"a supernatural being"
synonyms: paranormal · psychic · magic · magical · occult · mystic · mystical
Let's start with "beyond the laws of nature," shall we?
Is there any reason to think that forces exist beyond the laws of nature? Has any thing in history happened that was "beyond" the laws of nature, or not simply attributed to being beyond the laws of nature?
Secondly, let's take a look at the synonyms for supernatural: paranormal · psychic · MAGIC · MAGICAL · occult · mystic · mystical.
It sounds to me like there is some bias here. Christianity doesn't believe in anything that contains, or is identified by these words, such as "psychics/mediums," tarot cards, magic spells, potions, or enchanted items, but it's acceptable if used in the context of explaining their God? Hmmmm........
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoChristians: If the human species has been around for about 200,000 years, what was God doing for the billions of years before then?
Was he rehearsing his lines? Practicing for his big debut?
If you say "He was preparing the earth for us," you are beyond all hope. Humans are not special creatures.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoWhy do Christians believe that the gods of the Old and New Testaments are the same?
If you do a side-by-side comparison, they are obviously different.
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoIf I write a book and hide it for two thousand years, will the people of the future automatically believe its every word?
Maybe fifteen hundred years, at the least, but the more the better.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoWhy do scientists believe that the universe had "a beginning?" Is this just a conclusion based on observation?
I'm of the opinion that the universe is perpetually recurring, so to say that the universe had "a beginning," seems to promote other theories that are either more easily understood, or is intended to promote a particular viewpoint that is more desirable for society to hold.
It's not completely unheard of for scientists to be dishonest and/or promote a particular conclusion that is based on a hypothesis with all of the evidence available, even in the face so many unanswered questions as to how the universe functions.
Thank you, in advance, for your answers.
12 AnswersPhysics4 years agoHow did the Bible authors know, and remember, exactly how many people witnessed Jesus doing things? Did they sell tickets?
5000 people witnessing him feeding them with a few baskets of fish and bread? 500 witnessing him flying up to heaven?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoIf someone claimed to be Jesus, would they have to pass a quiz on ancient, Jewish literature given by Christians?
In other words, would it go something like:
Christian: "What was it that you said in (random Jesus scripture) and what did you mean by it?"
Jesus-claimant: "...........What are you talking about?....."
