how do you write documents/records about things like experiments/events?
im doing a story that is told through the writing of scientists of a secret government facility who keep records of monsters down referring to their creation, existence, and experiments on them.
do they start with the scientists name, date, and so forth like you might do an essay? or is there more required. because when i write this i want people to feel like these documents/records are real facts. like the movie blair witch or paranormal activity. i want the story to feel like it happened and that these monsters could exist.

TRy looking at some science journals. Go to your college library. (You don't have to be a student to read things while your there; you just can't check them out.

So you didn't pay attention in your science lab course when they told you how to keep records of your experiments, I guess. And you've never looked in a scientific scholarly journal to see what published articles look like.
