    Roses always seem to work.

But... seriously, feel free to give just about any at all.

Any at all. I wouldn't give a single stem rose. Any small bouquet of flowers would work better. grocery stores can have a good selection. Make sure they are wrapped. Give them to your dancer after the performance.

What ever you want. If the dancer isn't the lead then a single long stem rose is nice. If there are no leads then a small bouquet or a single rose is still fine. You just don't want to give a "show bouquet " if they aren't going to be presented flowers on stage . Or if they they have a small part you don't want something large to outshine the leads as everyone will be embarrassed. (If you don't know what a show bouquet is it is an arrangement meant to display the flowers best to the audience.)

For a recreational school dance recital a single long stem rose is perfect. So is a small bouquet like they sell at the supermarkets .
