Technical detail help for my laptop?

I will be getting a laptop for college soon (a Surface Book). I just need help figuring out what I really need in terms of technical detail. I have decided an i5 processor is sufficient enough for me. Now I need help figuring out how much storage and memory I should get. I'm going to school for nursing so I expect a lot of web browsing and paper writing and such.

    as big a storage as you can afford. 256gb is what I got. 512 would have been better - but I take lots of photos.
