Oddly enough, as "liberal" a state as California is, the rules for opening a Pot Shop vary from city to city.

Even though pot is legal, most places want nothing to do with it. Even LA has limited the number of shops they will allow.

A step by step guide would be thicker than a typical dictionary. Grows must be conducted in secure facilities, with every seed, stalk and gram accounted for from start to finish. The regulations are strict and require a pretty keen mind to manage. Are you sure you're up to dealing with onerous regulations and nitpicking accountants?

Step 1: You need a LONG conversation with the attorney you WILL have on retainer before you attempt to open a dispensary of any type.

Step 2: You will never get passed step 1.

I'd imagine that the Health Dept in California oversees that - so give them a visit and get some info. It's not a bad racket - but you can be robbed and shot by some criminal who wants your plants. So it's not all fun.
