    That would be Robert Pershing Wadlow. Known to his friends as "The Gentle Giant".

    He stood 8ft, 11.1 inches. He weighed 449 pounds.

    Born-Feb.22nd 1918

    Died-July 15th 1940

    He was only 22 years old. He died tragically, in his sleep.
