He said during the campaign that he would be sooo Presidential. But I wonder when he's going to start acting with grace and dignity, as befits a "Leader of the Free World," rather than engaging in all his childish Twitter-twaddle.

In a democracy (any kind of democracy, including America's democratic republic) with universal franchise a presidential election boils down to nothing more than a glorified popularity contest, and what is most popular is not necessarily good. It doesn't suggest whether the person elected is actually the best qualified or suited for office. Most of the electorate is swayed by hyperbole and simplistic answers and being trendy.

It becomes quickly obvious why many civilizations in the past restricted voting to people who are likely to have a clue what to demand from government, and that normally isn't housewives or uneducated men in manual labor jobs.
