if these are the most important things you want to see in NY then this is a good plan, it really depends on what you personally want to see and have memories of, or just enjoying your new found marriage and enjoy the city as it is, walking to places and mingling with the people

I would say the day you visit the 9/11 memorial you should go to the observatory in One World Trade Center, it's beautiful and I think it's only $10 a person. I would also say to venture out of Manhattan and visit Flushing Meadows Park's globe in queens & the botanical garden in the Bronx. Definitely take the Staten Island ferry, it's free and you get great views of the Statue of Liberty and the Hudson River. Also go to Brooklyn Bridge Park in Brooklyn, you get amazing views of the Downtown skyline!

Go downtown and visit Battery Park, it's extremely beautiful! I would also say visit Bryant Park in midtown it's awesome! Another place to visit is Astoria Park, it's in queens and you get great views of the Manhattan bridge, the midtown skyline & Amtrak bridge. Also when visiting the 9/11 memorial, go to the Oculus it's a shopping mall and it's amazing! Enjoy your stay :)

The Statue of Liberty will take you most of the day, especially if you plan to go all the way to the crown. There are signs, well before you get to the pedestal that say 4 hours to the crown from here, 5 hours to the crown. Plan to be there early if you don't want to be standing on line all day.

They is an entire BLOCK west of Times Square where every single building is a restaurant. Restaurant Row. Check out their website. We often easy they when going to Broadway show. And there is a TKTS both in Times Square where you can get day-of tickets for many shows - just not the TOP ones. Metropolitan Museum of Art is stunning. Many many other museums and galleries. Ample apps will guide you around, and help you cost. Try ULMON city guides. I use them when in Europe.

The Circle Line cruise all the way around Manhattan is about 3-3.5 hours, even if they do say it's only 2 and a half. Don't go on the weekend: even though it's mostly tourists, we, the locals, also on occasion partake on the weekends. It will be less crowded during the week.

Plan a full day each for the Met and the Museum of Natural History. As long as you visit the Museum of Natural History, visit the Planetarium too.

The 9/11 Memorial is only a couple of blocks from the Manhattan entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge, so you can do both on the same day. Bring some water as you walk across the bridge, it's a long hike and there is no shade, if it's a hot, sunny day, (typical for August) you may get dehydrated. As you come back over the Manhattan Bridge, have a meal at the Hop Shing or Wo Hop in Chinatown.

The view from the Empire State Building is pretty much the same as the Top of the Rock, so if I had to choose between the two, I'd pick the Empire State; be sure to pick a clear day, and go early. Then, you'll have half a day to do something else.

Newark International is EWR and is in New Jersey.

LAS is in Nevada, about 2000 miles (over 3000 km) away.

Figure at least one extra day for travel between LAS and NYC.

Others have already made valid suggested changes for your consideration. I'd like to stress that AUGUST IN NEW YORK can be BRUTAL. Think of the Outback in summer with 100,000 cars spewing exhaust heat and fumes. So don't over-schedule yourself.

Another issue: The code for Newark International Airport is EWR. I have just double-checked this through Google. I know the name is now Newark-Liberty International, but the code seems to have remained EWR. Talk to your travel agent about this. I might be wrong, but it wouldn't hurt to make assurances doubly-sure.

LAS seems to be McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.

Dat 4 and 5 activities won't take you that long to do. A couple of hours.

Have back up plans for days you have outside activities- it could rain.

In NYC, I would see a Broadway show.

Have lunch from a street vendor. Most are pretty good. Try a NY hot dog.

    Have a NY bagel

Have a NY pizza- not as good as Chicago pizza.

I would work in one of the baseball games

    Visit Chinatown

Window shop -there are some major high end store to dream through

If you have any interest in baseball, the NY Mets are playing an afternoon game on Sunday, Aug 20th. It's a half hour ride on the elevated 7 train. The Yankees are playing a night game on Friday, Aug 25th.

Tennis: qualifying events for the US Open will take place at Arthur Ashe Stadium (across the street from the Mets' stadium) during the week you're here. The tournament starts two days after you leave.

A word of caution: August weather can be unbearably hot, so check the forecast before you plan any outdoor activity.
