Is it legal to date a gang member?

Illegal? No. Unwise, VERY unwise and not very safe, either.

Here's the problem with dating a known gang member: first, you can be sprayed with bullets by a rival gang member. That's bad, don't you think?

Secondly, if the gang member is arrested on some outstanding warrant or for some criminal activity... you'll be handcuffed, put into a squad car, taken to the precinct, legally detained, interrogated, locked up a few hours, perhaps even a few days, and MAYBE released if you can prove you have no knowledge of whatever the person is arrested for. The cops keep a record of that; next time, it won't go as easy for you.

Physical attraction to gang members is somewhat like Manson who got multiple marriage proposals by lonely women... is that the thrill you're seeking by dating someone you KNOW to be a gang member (yeah, try to deny that to the cops... they probably will have had you under surveillance for a few days), even tapped your 'phone and have recorded your conversations, too.

Is it wise? No. It's stupid and dangerous for you and anyone standing near you if bullets start flying (retribution is a byatch on steroids).

Only in the act of illegal activity, I hope you are smart enough to not date the person.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to make stupidity illegal. However, the others are right that if you have any knowledge of illegal activity and don't tell the police, you could be charged with conspiracy or being an accessory.

never heard of the term Mafia Wives? Virtually every gang has had women do it. The Aryan Brotherhood, Crips, Bloods, Mexican Mafia, bikers, etc. But many street gangs would probably rather date a fellow gang member. If you're a cop then yeah you probably would get in trouble but a civilian, no. Of course I would say cops are crooked so you always have some law enforcement that will also aid gangs. Border patrol smuggles guns in for the cartel despite claiming to protect it, Whitey Bulger had a buddy in the FBI helping him get away with crime for years just because they both grew up together. Plus a lot of cops bust dealers then sell their own dope back onto the street.

There'd be no legitimate charge for them to arrest you on. But you could easily get caught in the middle of something bad or hauled in for questioning. I mean I wouldn't recommend dating a gang member.
