Is mineral oil safe for my 16 month old?
My 16 month old has chronic constipation and he hasn't had a bowel movement in 5 days, we took him to the doctors and they said to give him 1 tablespoon of mineral oil orally 2x a day, and if he doesn't have a bowel movement within a day bring him in. Is mineral oil really safe for my baby? Bottle says not to take under 12 years old...

The doctor told you to give it to him. That should answer your question right there.
They went to school for over 8 years to help people. I think they might just know what they are talking about.

It has been prescribed by a doctor who knows whether it is safe or not.
