No. Amazon has their own operating system. Fine as long as you stay in their environment. But not good for anything else. That's the one and only good thing about Apple. EVERYONE makes their stuff work on Apple. But not so much everybody elses working on everybody elses.

No. Amazon Fire runs FireOS which is based on Android but mainly can only run the special Fire versions of apps from the Amazon Fire App Store which is about 1/10 of Android apps and many are out-of-date versions or have unfixed bugs. FireOS does not have the Google Play Store, the real Youtube app (or any of the Google apps), or the Google Services which are required to run a majority of standard Android apps.

I would only buy a Fire is you are totally satisfied with the app selection and app review comments in the Fire App store.

There is no such thing in that context as "An Android"...

[An Android would be a humanoid robot].

Android is a computer operating system, like Windows, OSX, iOS, Linux, Symbian etc.

(It's a heavily-customised Linux version made for phones and tablets).

Amazon's "Fire" operating system is based on Android but with all the Google-specific feature and apps removed and Amazon's own versions added.
