It's one of the most important things in the world. It facilitates trade and exchange. It gives people a clear defined goal. Imagine getting a job in a world without money or gold, having to negotiate your pay every week. Fancy being paid in bananas? My mother can sew a damn nice sweater, would you like that? You get the point.
Furthermore, it's one of the most important goals a healthy minded individual can have. The acquisition of money CHANGES your life, it grants you freedom and purchasing power. Want to travel and see different things? Want a car? Anything you want you get with money.
There's only one thing it can't get you and that's a strong sense of self-worth. People become preoccupied with judging their own life, judging themselves, and they say money doesn't mean anything. Get real, money won't solve your depression issues you create for yourself. But any healthy minded individual understands life improves in a very significant way when you have money. It's more important than exercise, more important than education, you don't have to give a single f*ck if you have money.

Money can't buy you happiness.
Come to think of it being poor doesn't buy you happiness either.
Okay money wins.

If you have Knowledge, it means nothing. If you don't have Knowledge, it means everything.
But how do you convince someone that thinks they have everything that they have nothing? It goes both ways, as often those with Knowledge appear to have nothing, but in fact have everything.

Depends on the situation.
If you are a multi-millionaire adrift in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, not all that much.

To poor people it's important but it's value is worthless as there's nothing backing it up such as gold.

Very important, but its relative importance depends where you are. Some form of trading is essential if you are not to be totally self-sufficient and avoid interaction with others (aka trade). Money is a transferable system and so more flexible than a society based on bartering. Governments like it because they can tax it.

Its not as valuable as you'd think it is...it is essentially only tokenistic. Its value only derives from a promise that you will get goods or have he ability to accumulate wealth on labour or expertise given.
The smart people out there have all their 'wealth' in precious metals, land and property. You can print money all day long 24/7/365...but they don't make precious metals and land any more.So whaty do you think is more valuable,a piece of paper or a chunk of land or metals that are finite resources?
