should i wear protective glasses for soccer?

my mom is trying to force me to wear eye protection during soccer because my eyes are super sensitive and if i got hit in the eye with the ball then theres a higher risk of me going blind or getting injured or whatever. I don't want to wear them because i think they look stupid and i don't feel comfortable in them. Also i don't try heading the ball and i stay out of the way of it when its flying so i don't think ill get hit in the face with it very often. How do i convince my mom to not make me wear them?? She says she won't let me play if i don't wear them. I really enjoy soccer and want to play but i refuse to wear those glasses.

I frankly don't think a soccer ball is small enough to hit anyone in the eye. Duh.

There are some nice models available that are clear and quite streamlined. They aren't all thick and bulky.

I have no clue what you mean by  your eyes are super sensitive which gives you a higher risk of going blind if you get hit with a ball. I think you have been fed a line of bad info.

Either your Mom is way over protective or just badly misinformed.

no you shouldn't if you have such a serious defect you shouldn't be playing anything I am not a doctor but soccer is a tough game anyway I doubt very much you have such a serious problem glasses would not help you then you cannot be hit in the eye by the ball it is too big it will hit your head it cannot get in the socket

You can't.

She is protecting you, as a good mom would.
There is no good mom that will take a chance with their child eye sight.
You think you look silly in the glasses is not a good chance of going blind.
