    @joe,

    intel....really? tyrion is smarter than cersei...tywin been teachin them for 40 years, GOLD WIN WARS...food feed armies....highgarden have both...or maybe cersei turned genius overnight outsmarting a more experienced battle commander like tyrion...he even failed to advise dany about the ironbank behind every war that happened in westeros...which btw already promised support to cersei....

    Not intentionally.

    We're seeing what amounts to a failure of intelligence. Team Targaryen had no idea of where Euron's fleet was, or where the Lannister forces were.

    We're also seeing a failure of military command, in particular, naval command. Yara Greyjoy was thinking like a pirate, and not like an admiral. Madman or not, Euron has learned the tactics required to go against an armed adversary.

    I'm a little surprised that Varys wasn't lobbying for a delay, while he recruited new "little birds" on the mainland. Perhaps he did, and was overruled by an impatient Daenerys.

    I'm looking forward to next week. :-)
