Last question on Maui (I hope!) Anniversary dinner plans?

Update:

Okay, I know Honolulu isn't on Maui, but it is the only category in travel that is in Hawaii. Traveling for our anniversary and looking for a great place to have our anniversary dinner. We are not stuffy people, so not into white tablecloths, fancy foods and the like. Really looking for a place that has great seafood, good beer and a lively ambiance! For example, when at home in California we might choose a sushi place or a bar and grill with great fish tacos for our anniversary dinner.

I'm from Oahu, but have been to Maui a lot. Mostly I eat fast food, so I can't give you fancy dining recommendations. I'll give a shout out to Maui Tacos at Queen Ka'ahumanu Center mall for the best food court Mexican, though. (:

Paia Fish Market (pronounced pa-EE-ya). It's sort of in a tourist trap area. Lots of hippies, too. I haven't been there myself, but friends have said the food is good. Very casual environment, literally tank tops and shorts, but it has its charm.

This isn't a restaurant, but be sure to visit Komoda's store in Makawao. They have a bakery with awesome cream puffs and other pastries. I always make a pilgrimage there whenever I go to Maui. You must have a cream puff, you must! The main street is very touristy, but Komoda's is popular with locals.

In general Lahaina is sort of like the Waikiki of Maui, you'll probably find bar & grill type of places there.

    Congrats on your anniversary!

Fly to Kauai for the anniversary dinner. Lehue has some surprisingly nice but semi intimate restaurants.
