Name for a tow hook for passat b7?
Can anyone please look in their car and tell me what is the tow hook serial number for a passat b7? I ordered one online, it said it's for passat b7 but clearly isn't. It's bigger than it should be. It has the audi symbol on it and says ''TR'' along with a cryptic serial 8K080565A...
German overengineering... they should've just had one type of tow hook and that's it! ffs!

here is info from one of MANY sites !!!
The hooks normally seen are mainly used for tie down during shipment. Since the B7 didn't need to be secured on a boat to be transported here, they didn't put them on. Page 354 of the owners manual says "This vehicle is not designed to be towed with a tow rope or a tow bar. The vehicle can only be towed by a special tow truck." This a wheel tow only car.

That's not a SERIAL number, it's a PART number. Send it back where you got it and then go to your local VW dealer's parts room to get the correct part.
