Gypsy Fortune Teller,True or Myth?

Update:

In town last year shopping and this gypsy selling rocks saw me from 30ft away. She started saying things about my life which were true.I walked over to her to find out more and she even said id have a baby boy which i have done. Need advice on these gypsy how do they know these things? more info next...

Update 2:

I already had 3 children and certainly didnt plan on anymore but the gypsy was correct. Other things she said were somewhat weird also she said"you think your husband doesnt love you but he does, more than you will ever know". In the past i admit i have been in denial about my husband. Everything she said had been in my past was all true. My husband has children to a previous relationship and the gypsy even knew about this and all of his ex partners!. How is this possible?>

    Not even a myth, actually. Just a couple of well-rehearsed parlour tricks.

    Fortune tellers (gypsy or otherwise) are entertainers, not cosmically gifted seers into that which cannot be seen. That's why they all (well, all the honest ones) have those "for entertainment purposes only" disclaimers attached to every thing. The smart ones even make their clients sign that disclaimer before any money changes hands.

    They don't use any cosmic or divine powers to tell fortunes, they use carefully learned techniques. Their favourite (and most effective) methods include common observation, the Forer effect, cold reading, and a natural talent for performing. Look up those middle two things if you have to, they're not a secret or anything.

    Belief it or not psychics are real, i have had these experiences also, and much, much more.
