Upgraded to i5 7600k from fx8350 without reinstalling windows 10!?
I upgraded without having to reinstall windows 10 can I be getting lower fps because of this? I get around 40-60 fps in battlefield 1 I'm using a GTX 1070 SC , 16gb of ram.

Did you install the new chipset driver if you did not your CPU is not working correctly. Go into your control panel and find Device Manager find the CPU and see if the new CPU is listed if not delete the CPU and delete the driver and restart your computer your computer will then install the correct chipset off the internet

No, your FPS has nothing to do with your method of Windows installation. That's entirely due to the video drivers. I would go ahead and run the Geforce Experience app to optimize your game performance. Also try using both DX11 and DX12 mode on BF1, and see if you notice a difference.

There is only around 3% difference in the two CPUs; you get more variation than that between different motherboard / RAM combinations on the same CPU...
To be honest, for the latest games that can use eight cores, it's probably a downgrade.

You upgraded without having to reinstall Windows? Hmm well I m assuming you replaced the motherboard and CPU together. You would have to reinstall. New board, new OEM, drivers, etc. That s probably why it s running as good.
