What careers are there for earning a B.A in psychology? I want to work with kids?

Update:

I want to improve there lives through forms of the arts (music, art etc.) I want to talk to them and give them advice. I also want to work with families.

You must get at least a MA to work in the field in psychology. The problem is that there are so many people with just a BA that competition to get into graduate school is fierce and many who want to do not get in. I have a BA in psychology and had to get a teaching credential to get a job.

Get a second major in art. Then go on to a master's in child psychology. At that point, you can be come an child psychologist whose specialty is art therapy. You could get a job at a counseling firm or at psychiatry firm as most psychiatry firms employ only a couple of psychiatrists to tend to prescription writing and medical concerns but otherwise staff themselves with psychologists. You could get a job at a mental hospital that specializes treating children, or adults. Almost all in-patient mental hospitals either have on staff or contract art therapists to lead group therapy. You could also get a job at some schools.

You should know that a bachelor's alone in psychology is not enough to work in the field. If psychology is your goal, particularly the practice of it, you need a minimum of a master's degree.
