It is widely accepted that George Jones's "He Stopped Loving Her Today" is the best ever Country song. I personally liked Faron Young's version more!

Any answer to this standard question has to be subjective. Here are my ten 'best' Country songs:

3). "Don't Be Angry" ~ Stonewall Jackson.

4). "Dark As A Dungeon" ~ Grandpa Jones.

5). "The Last Letter" ~ Mac Wiseman.

6). "My Blue Ridge Mountain Boy" ~ Dolly Parton.

7). "Me And Bobby McGee" ~ Kris Kristofferson.

8). "Tulsa Queen" ~ Emmylou Harris.

9). "City Of New Orleans" ~ Willie Nelson.

10). "Driftwood On The River" ~ Goldie Hill.

Ask me the same question in six months and I would probably pick some different songs!
